NEW ELID, TERISMARK — In what Terisian officials are calling the most successful military operation in the nation’s modern history, the Terisian Guard captured and summarily executed the entire New Elid charter of the militant group known as the Legion of Liberty.
The group is one of many insurgent cells associated with the wider Legion network, which intelligence estimates place in the hundreds. The movement is believed to operate dozens of underground “charters” across the continent.
“What’s to stop the Terisian government from executing anyone it deems inconvenient?”
The raid was carried out in the early hours of 13 Jolanus at a suspected safehouse in New Elid’s Wornwood District. Officials report that the Guard seized a small armory of advanced weapons, a stockpile of illicit narcotics believed to fund the group’s operations, and several military devices containing what authorities described as “seditious literature.” According to statements, this literature was being distributed among impoverished neighborhoods to stir unrest.
Nine individuals were captured and executed by hanging later that same day. The executions were carried out under direct order of Speaker Svir Sorren, who declared the act “a necessary strike against treason.”
“Today, a heavy blow was delivered by the Terisian Guard,” Sorren said during a press briefing the following morning. “Let this be an example to other nations that peace and justice will prevail. And to the remaining terrorists at large—there is nowhere to hide.”
International reaction was swift. Human rights groups, including Free Citizens Confederacy International, issued statements condemning the executions, citing the complete absence of a trial process.
Radimir Kolkot, senior legal advisor for the FCCI, called the act a violation of basic human rights.
“The very essence of liberty has been undermined,” Kolkot said. “We must not allow any regime to operate with such unchecked power. What’s to stop the Terisian government from executing anyone it deems inconvenient?”

Kolkot described the nine as “victims of state-sponsored murder.”
The Terisian Guard has declined to release the names of those executed.
Citizens are being urged to report any individuals suspected of affiliation with the Legion of Liberty. Members are said to wear or tattoo a distinct insignia: a metallic skull encircled by a wreath (see left).
