Sorren Elected for 4th Term

NEW ELID — Former tech magnate Svir Sorren will remain Speaker of the New Preceptic State of Terismark after securing a staggering 96% of the vote in this week’s elections. The landslide victory grants Sorren a fourth consecutive term, extending his leadership into a fifteenth year at the helm of the post-secessionist republic.

Sorren has led Terismark since its founding in 1327, shortly after the state declared independence from Aeryl. Apart from the inaugural contest, his rule has faced little serious opposition. The Terisian Constitution imposes no term limits on Assembly seats, meaning Sorren could, in theory, hold the speakership indefinitely.

“I am honored and gratified by the faith the citizens of this great nation have shown in me,” Sorren said during his victory address. “I look forward to working towards the best solutions in the coming years.”

Few were surprised by the outcome—not even Senator Perrio Israv, the sole challenger and current Chairman of the Terisian Freedom Party.

“Some say it was a futile endeavor to run against the Speaker,” Israv stated. “But it needed to be done. Win or lose, the spirit of the preceptocracy must be upheld. Before our secession, there were no votes. Now that we have them, it does no good not to use them.”

Terismark is one of only four nations that reject monarchy in favor of alternative governance—its preceptocratic model remains controversial but resilient. With Sorren’s mandate renewed and no clear successor in sight, critics and supporters alike now watch to see how much longer the so-called Technarch of Terismark will steer the state’s future.

Terin Holfair hates you. He wants you to know that the likelihood that you'll have anything intelligent to say is very slim, which is why he doesn't even read correspondence that is addressed to him. He claims to know every word in the Anderian language, and despises Canderian.
