The Vanquished card symbolizes hope in times of adversity. First, there is the prominent broken shield, which is adorned with a crumbling tower in flames. Sitting directly atop the shield is a naked man in defeat, overshadowed by a dead tree. Above the words ”Arcanum” are ten spears, as the numbers 1 and 0 combine to form the 1, which is the number of the card. At the top lies a helm looking to the left, dwelling on the past. Finally, there is a single nine-pointed star, nine being derived from the Sacred Number 33, meaning 3 times 3. This star is significant in that it symbolizes the hope which is greatest in times of austerity. – from The Usirad Grimoire
Monthly Fortune:
No matter what happens this month, it shall pass. Sometimes in the face of adversity it seems impossible that things will get better. In the moment it always feels so awful that we forget all the other times we’ve made it through. We’ve forgotten the pain of our success stories, our triumphs, and to forget those just because the emotions and the pain have subsided is still doing ourselves a great disservice. There is nothing in life that cannot be overcome. Remain steadfast in your fortitude.
Another thing that helps is to truly let go of things that don’t matter. Is it an issue you can’t control? Let it go. Why worry about it? It’s terrible, it’s not going anywhere, there is nothing you can do about it anyway. So don’t dwell on it. Instead of focusing on the monster in the room, focus on better times that lie ahead. If you’re working towards a solution, allow it to play out. What other stresses are in your life that don’t matter? Why are you letting all the little things get to you? Little things add up to big ones, so if you don’t react to things that don’t matter, you’ll eliminate a lot of stress from your life completely. Before you get worked up about something, ask yourself if it will matter in two weeks. Will it still matter?
This is where the saying, “said the lion to the fly” comes from. Be like the lion. A lion doesn’t even respond to the fly. Why would it? The fly doesn’t truly matter. Stop being like a lion trying to attack a fly.

Someday I'll get these cards done. After I'm all done with Klondike. You won't be able to buy the whole deck though. You'll have to collect the cards just like people in the stories.
